AMERICA!!! FUCK YEAH!!!

For a country that is the third greatest in the world*, the USA does seems to have a fair proportion of amazingly dense idiots. This is, after all, a country that elected Bush The Retarded once. Thankfully, they had the sense not to do it twice.

This is a story about how school governors want creationism taught in schools. Apparently, it's unfair to teach evolution. Apparently, teaching how a bearded sky fairy made humans out of mud is equally valid. There's a fantastic quote from something called Joel Fanti in that article. He has been quoted as saying "If evolution is so slow, why don't we see anything evolving now?"

In the words of the late, great, Bill Hicks, I would like to say to Mr. Fanti.

"Kill yourselves, seriously. You're the ruiner of all things good. Seriously, no, this is not a joke. "There's gonna be a joke coming..." There's no fucking joke coming, you are Satan's spawn, filling the world with bile and garbage, you are fucked and you are fucking us, kill yourselves, it's the only way to save your fucking soul. Kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself now."

*Behind Aotearoa and Cymru, obviously.

Why do Americans have to do everything to extremes? For instance, they currently teach evolution as a 'fact.' No, it's not a fact. It's a scientific theory. Admittedly, it is a theory which has behind it incredibly large amounts of evidence, but a theory is still a theory. Calling it a 'fact' obviously annoys the woo woo gang ahem I mean religious folks who want creationism taught alongside it (they will happily call whatever they believe 'facts' by the way).
Worryingly this might actually happen in the US. This then gives it precedent and so those of a religious persuasion here in Britain might want the same treatment.
I certainly wouldn't want my children to be taught creationism alongside evolution. "Oh but they need to make up their dear little minds which one they prefer" say the hand wavers. No, you fuckers. Evolution is a scientific theory backed by solid evidence. Creatisonism belongs in religious education lessions, and what little 'scientific evidence' supports it is farsical (go here: https://www.csm.org.uk/expo.php).
Note well: I have no problem with people believing whatever they like about how humans came into being, or believing in some non-existant God. However, to mislead children into thinking that evolution and creationism should be somehow considered equal is at best misguided political correctness, and at worst religious indoctrination.

Oh...come now. I am American and a Pharmacist. Found your site while looking for another blog, theangrypharmacist.com...you should check it out...a VERY funny and sadly accurate depiction of what it's like to be a Pharmacist in the US...minus the profanity...don't say you weren't warned!

Anyway, this story is NOT what's going on in the US. As is the case pretty much everywhere, the extreme viewpoints get all the press coverage. Meanwhile, a good 95% of the population is smack in the middle of the political spectrum...give or take. Also, the US is much larger and much, much more diverse than many other countries. I live in an urban center in the Northeast and I have NO IDEA how Bush got elected once, never mind twice. But then again, presidential candidates don't even campaign here because they know how it's going to turn out. It's a disgrace. On the other hand, if you were to go to areas in the South or Midwest, you would be run out of town for supporting Clinton or Obama.

Our political system is on the ropes. Wanna know why the bailout failed the first time? (Oooh...just turned on CNN and the Senate passed take two...let's see how it goes in The House). It failed because the people DO NOT TRUST THEIR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES. Wanna know why the Economy is on the ropes now? Our representatives...and I use "our" loosely...represent Wall Street, not Main Street.

OK...enough of that!

Have a good day!

Well, we all know how Junior Bush got elected the first time: he cheated.

The second time? Er.. you've only got yourselves to blame. Or at least your shoddy excuse for a voting system.

Go Obama!
